Hormone Therapy

Hormone therapy (previously known as hormone replacement therapy) is used to replace hormones that your body no longer makes, such as estrogen after menopause. Hormones can be taken a few different ways. Systemic hormone therapy comes in a pill, patch, gel or cream. These forms can be taken to treat troubling symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. Using a gel or cream intravaginally can help with vaginal dryness, itching, burning and discomfort with intercourse. If hormone therapy fails to treat your vaginal symptoms, you may be a candidate for THERMiVa® (see THERMiVa).

Thyroid Disorder

One in eight women will develop thyroid problems during her lifetime. Symptoms of thyroid dysfunction can vary. If you suspect that you have an overactive or underactive thyroid we can check your thyroid hormone levels at your next visit.
